
Beijing, March 22: The 10th Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) took place on March 21 in Colombia, the rotating presidency country. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message for this summit.
Xi noted that the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-CELAC Forum was successfully held in Beijing last May. He participated in the opening ceremony, where both sides announced the launch of five major initiatives focusing on unity, development, civilization, peace, and people-to-people exchanges. Over the past year, both parties have closely collaborated to advance these initiatives, resulting in tangible benefits for their populations.
Xi emphasized that China will continue to be a good friend and partner to Latin American and Caribbean nations. He reaffirmed China’s support for these countries in safeguarding their sovereignty, security, and developmental interests. Additionally, he expressed readiness to jointly uphold international justice and fairness with Latin America, contributing to a new chapter in the China-Latin America community with a shared future.
