China’s Water Conservation Investment Exceeds 10 Trillion Yuan for Fourth Year

Beijing, 7 January – China’s investment in water conservation construction has remained above 10 trillion yuan for four consecutive years, with a total of 12.848 trillion yuan invested in 2025, announced Li Guoying, China’s Minister of Water Resources.

This information was shared at the National Water Conservation Work Conference held on 5 and 6 January.

Li Guoying highlighted that by 2025, China has implemented 47,563 water conservation projects, generating employment for approximately 3.15 million people.

In addition to the development of the national water network, various water conservation departments at different levels achieved significant results in flood and drought disaster prevention, restoration of river and lake ecological environments, and the establishment of digital twin water conservation systems during 2025.
