Chinas New Energy Vehicle Production and Exports Surge in April

Beijing, May 11: The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) has reported a significant increase in the production, sales, and exports of new energy vehicles in April.

According to the latest data, the production of new energy vehicles reached 1.32 million units, while sales totaled 1.344 million units. This represents an increase of 5.5% and 9.7%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. New energy vehicles accounted for 53.2% of total vehicle sales.

Exports also saw remarkable growth, with 430,000 new energy vehicles exported in April, marking a 110% increase from the previous year. From January to April this year, China exported a total of 1.384 million new energy vehicles, reflecting a 120% rise compared to the same period last year.

A CAAM official stated that China’s economy has made a strong start this year, with many key economic indicators performing better than expected. He noted that the country’s automotive industry is rapidly advancing towards electrification, intelligence, and inter-industry integration.
