Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Emphasizes Safety and Harmony Ahead of Upcoming Festivals

Yogi Adityanath stresses safety and community harmony as preparations for upcoming festivals intensify in Uttar Pradesh.

Lucknow, November 3 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called for utmost vigilance and community harmony as Uttar Pradesh prepares for its upcoming festivals. During a video conference on November 3, he emphasized the importance of ensuring safety, cleanliness, and public services to prevent any unpleasant incidents that could disrupt the festive spirit.

Adityanath firmly stated that any attempts to turn celebrations into disturbances will not be tolerated. He directed authorities to adopt a ‘zero tolerance’ policy against anti-social elements, ensuring strict action is taken. With the festivals of Deepotsav, Diwali, Chhath, and Dev Deepawali approaching, all officials and employees have had their leaves canceled immediately.

The Chief Minister reviewed the preparations for the grand Deepotsav set to take place in Ayodhya on November 7. He stressed the need for prioritizing the safety and convenience of pilgrims and tourists. Traffic management plans must be prepared in advance and widely communicated to the public. Adequate police presence will be mandatory at major temples and sensitive religious sites around the clock.

In anticipation of the festivals, police surveillance will be intensified in main markets and business areas, with 24/7 monitoring, foot patrols, and active CCTV systems. Senior officials are expected to assess the on-ground arrangements personally, ensuring that emergency response units remain active.

Regarding fire safety and the sale of fireworks, Adityanath instructed that firecracker shops and temporary warehouses should be located in safe, open areas away from densely populated regions. The fire department has been put on high alert with sufficient fire tenders and lifesaving equipment.

Additionally, the Urban Development and Panchayati Raj departments have been tasked with a cleanliness drive, ensuring proper sanitation and lighting in both urban and rural areas. Regular sanitization and anti-larvae fogging will be conducted to prevent waterlogging and maintain hygiene.

The transport department will operate additional buses and clamp down on unfit vehicles, while private bus operators will face penalties for overcharging. Adityanath also emphasized transparency in public distribution systems and urged prompt resolution of pending medical reimbursement claims for retired pensioners.

Moreover, the Chief Minister has mandated that payments to outsourced personnel and Anganwadi workers be made before the festivals. He has directed district officials to monitor the availability of fertilizers closely to prevent artificial shortages and ensure farmers can sell their produce without inconvenience.

This comprehensive approach aims to foster a festive atmosphere while maintaining order and safety across the state.
