Chief Minister Mohan Yadav Congratulates Scientists on Successful Test of Advanced Agni Missile

Bhopal, May 10: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has extended his congratulations to the scientists of DRDO India for the successful test of the advanced Agni missile, equipped with high-tech features. He acknowledged their efforts in developing the ‘Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle’ (MIRV).

In a post on the social media platform X, CM Yadav stated that the nation’s defense shield has become even stronger. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s defense capabilities are being significantly enhanced, setting new benchmarks in the defense sector.

He emphasized that the successful test of the advanced Agni missile from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha has reaffirmed India’s commitment to self-reliance. The MIRV technology allows for precise targeting of multiple objectives simultaneously, which is a source of pride for all Indians.

India successfully tested the advanced Agni missile using the MIRV system from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha. The missile was tested with multiple warheads aimed at various targets spread across a large geographical area in the Indian Ocean region.

Several ground and ship-based stations were involved in telemetry and tracking. These systems monitored the entire journey from the missile’s launch to the impact of all warheads. Flight data indicated that all mission objectives were achieved during the test.

This successful test once again demonstrated the capability to target multiple critical objectives using a single missile system. The missile was developed by DRDO laboratories in collaboration with industries across the country. Senior DRDO scientists and Indian Army personnel were present during the test.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh praised DRDO, the Indian Army, and the industrial sector for the successful flight test. He noted that this achievement will further strengthen the country’s defense preparedness in light of growing threats.

The MIRV, or ‘Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle,’ signifies that a single missile can carry multiple nuclear warheads, which can be released independently at different times and directions, making it nearly impossible for adversaries to intercept them.
