Chhattisgarhs Surguja District Launches Online Coaching for NEET and JEE Aspirants
Surguja District in Chhattisgarh introduces free online coaching for NEET and JEE to support students from government schools.

Surguja, October 16 (Daily Kiran) : Surguja District in Chhattisgarh is set to become the first district in the state to offer live online coaching for NEET and JEE candidates from government schools. This initiative aims to provide equal opportunities for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
The program, supported by the Department of School Education and funded through the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), will offer free online coaching to students from 35 government higher secondary schools across the district. It seeks to ensure that financial constraints and the high fees of private coaching institutes do not hinder talented students aspiring to become doctors or engineers.
Selected schools will host live online classes simultaneously, allowing students to prepare for competitive exams without the need to travel to larger cities or incur substantial expenses on private coaching. Each block will select five government schools to participate in this initiative, which is seen as a significant step towards improving access to quality competitive exam preparation, particularly for students from tribal and remote areas of Surguja.
The formal launch of this initiative will take place on October 17, with Rajesh Agarwal, the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Religious Trusts, presiding over the event at the Ambikapur Collectorate conference hall.
Surguja has a large tribal population and possesses significant academic talent; however, many promising students struggle to fulfill their dreams due to a lack of resources and access to specialized coaching. For numerous students from economically weaker families, the high fees of private coaching and travel expenses to major educational centers have made preparing for NEET and JEE a daunting challenge.
The district administration’s initiative aims to bridge this gap by providing organized coaching facilities within government schools. Ajit Vasant, the Collector of Surguja, believes this program could significantly enhance opportunities for students preparing for competitive exams, allowing them to compete with those who have access to expensive coaching services. He noted that a group of selected students from the 35 schools would be sent to Raipur for coaching.
If implemented effectively, this initiative could serve as a model for other districts in Chhattisgarh, especially those with significant tribal and economically disadvantaged populations.
