Gariaband, February 26: In a significant development, families living in makeshift homes in the Rajim municipality area of Chhattisgarh’s Gariaband district have experienced a remarkable transformation. Thanks to the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme (Urban), these underprivileged families have received financial assistance to construct permanent homes. Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the government, stating that their dream of owning a solid house has finally come true.

Under the scheme, each eligible beneficiary received approximately ₹2.5 lakh in installments, enabling them to replace their temporary shelters with sturdy homes.

Beneficiaries shared their past struggles, highlighting the issues they faced while living in makeshift houses. During the rainy season, water would leak from the roofs, walls would become damp, and there was a constant risk of walls collapsing. Both the monsoon and summer seasons posed significant challenges, but now, with secure housing, they have completely overcome these problems. The newfound safety has brought joy and confidence to these families, who have expressed their heartfelt thanks to PM Modi.

Ashwani Patel, one of the beneficiaries, shared with a news agency that receiving a home under the PM Housing Scheme has positively impacted his life. He mentioned the difficulties faced while living in a hut, especially during adverse weather conditions. Now, with a permanent house, his family feels safe and content.

Another beneficiary, Kailash, noted that he received benefits under the scheme in his mother’s name and has already received three installments. Previously, living in a temporary structure posed numerous challenges, particularly during the rainy season. The completion of their new home has brought relief to his family.

Jituram, another beneficiary, stated that he benefited from the urban housing scheme in the municipality area. He had previously lived in a temporary house and lacked sufficient funds to build a permanent one. The assistance received through the scheme has made his dream a reality. He expressed gratitude to both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, emphasizing that the government has provided significant relief to the poor by helping them secure solid homes.
