
New Delhi, August 16: In a thrilling encounter of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026, the Central Delhi Kings triumphed over the North Delhi Strikers by 8 wickets. Chasing a target of 151 runs, Central Delhi achieved the score in just 9.3 overs, losing only 2 wickets.
The Kings got off to a blazing start, thanks to Siddharth June and captain Yash Dhul. The duo put together an impressive 140-run partnership for the first wicket in just 7.3 overs. Siddharth showcased his explosive batting skills, scoring a remarkable 76 runs off just 24 balls, boasting a strike rate of 316. He hit 6 fours and 8 sixes during his innings. Meanwhile, captain Dhul contributed significantly with 69 runs from 24 balls, including 9 fours and 4 sixes. Yugal Saini remained unbeaten on 2 runs, while Keshav Dabbas added 4 runs to the total. For North Delhi, Arjun and Vaibhav Kandpal each took one wicket.
Earlier, the North Delhi Strikers struggled to set a competitive total, managing only 150 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs. The team’s start was shaky, with captain Sarthak Ranjan, who had been in excellent form, dismissed for just 10 runs. Vaibhav Kandpal also failed to make an impact, scoring only 18 runs. Yash Bhatia couldn’t capitalize on a good start, falling for 24 runs off 15 balls to Aatreya Tripathi.
Yash Dabbas managed just 5 runs, while Bharat Sindhwan scored 34 runs off 27 balls, hitting 3 fours and a six. Arnav Bagga contributed 3 runs before being dismissed. In the closing overs, Arjun Rapadia played a commendable innings, scoring an unbeaten 28 runs off just 17 balls, helping his team reach a respectable score. For Central Delhi, Abhishek Kumar Yadav, Aatreya Tripathi, Tejas Baroka, and Gavish Khurana each claimed two wickets, while Mani Grewal took one wicket.
