Celebrating 13 Years of Jolly LLB: Amrita Rao Reflects on Her Journey

New Delhi, March 15: The courtroom drama and comedy film ‘Jolly LLB’ has completed 13 years since its release. On this occasion, lead actress Amrita Rao shared several interesting anecdotes related to the film with her fans. She described ‘Jolly LLB’, released in 2013, as a film ahead of its time and reminisced about her experiences.

Amrita posted a video on her Instagram account, stating, “Today marks the anniversary of ‘Jolly LLB’. I consider myself very lucky to have been part of films that hold a special place in the hearts of the audience. The moment I heard the story, I was convinced that this film was ahead of its time.”

She also discussed her character in the film, saying, “One of my best memories of playing Sandhya, Jolly’s love interest from Meerut, was learning to ride a scooter. I practiced a lot for the film. Additionally, I learned to speak in a ‘tu-tadak’ style.”

Amrita praised director Subhash Kapoor and co-star Arshad Warsi, mentioning, “On set, Subhash Kapoor was always in his element, and Arshad was the most entertaining and truly ‘jolly’ co-star.”

Produced by Fox Star Studios, ‘Jolly LLB’ features Arshad Warsi as Advocate Jagdish Tyagi (Jolly). The film’s narrative revolves around a lawyer striving to bring justice for six innocent laborers killed in a road accident. Alongside Amrita Rao, the film also stars Boman Irani and Saurabh Shukla in significant roles.

Upon release, the film received widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics, establishing itself as a successful franchise. Following the first film, ‘Jolly LLB 2’ was released in 2017, featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead role. The third installment, ‘Jolly LLB 3’, also starred Akshay Kumar alongside Arshad Warsi, which was well-received by viewers.
