Muzaffarpur, May 28: On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, RJD leader and member of the Legislative Council, Mohammad Kari Sohaib, has reiterated his demand for the cow to be declared the national animal. Speaking on Thursday, he emphasized that true sacrifice today means giving up emotions, ego, anger, and pride. He believes that living in brotherhood and love will lead to a better nation and society.
In a media interaction in Muzaffarpur, Sohaib accused the BJP of politicizing the cow issue. He pointed out that since 2014, beef exports from India have surged, making the country a leading exporter globally. He questioned the BJP’s self-proclaimed status as cow protectors, noting that beef exports have increased under their governance.
Sohaib highlighted the ongoing smuggling incidents from border areas, stating that a true follower of Sanatan Dharma and Lord Ram would never support hatred, violence, or mob lynching. He emphasized that Lord Ram preached values of dignity, love, and sacrifice. He accused those who politicize the cow of accepting donations from beef traders to spread hatred in society.
He criticized BJP leaders for their double standards, claiming that while they advocate for cow protection, they simultaneously support beef factories. The RJD MLC stated that the only way to end violence and hatred in the name of cows is to declare the cow as the national animal immediately. He argued that just as the peacock is recognized as the national bird, the cow should receive the same status.
Sohaib referenced the significant number of cow deaths in Rajasthan, questioning the whereabouts of so-called cow protection groups during that crisis. He announced that the RJD would launch a widespread movement on this issue, appealing to Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians across the country to join the campaign.
He urged the central government to shut down all beef companies in the country and to put an end to politics and violence surrounding the cow.
