New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan praised the Union Budget 2026-27, calling it a “Developed India Budget” that takes everyone along. He said the budget will accelerate education and employment generation, while presenting a clear and strong roadmap for the next phase of India’s development.
Pradhan welcomed the announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to establish ‘Rare Earth Corridors’ in mineral-rich states like Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. He described this move as crucial for India, as it will unlock the country’s true potential in rare earth minerals.
He explained that rare earth minerals are essential today for clean energy, electronics, defence, electric vehicles, and high-tech industries. The creation of these corridors will not only make India self-reliant in production and processing but also reduce dependence on imports.
The Education Minister said the initiative will strengthen indigenous capabilities and open unprecedented employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth. New prospects will emerge in mining, research, processing, manufacturing, and technology sectors, benefiting millions of young Indians.
Regarding the budget, Pradhan stated it is a solid blueprint to fully utilise India’s development potential, ensure inclusive growth for all sections, and realise the vision of a ‘Developed India’.
He emphasised that the budget is not just a document of figures but a reflection of a commitment to improving the lives of ordinary citizens. He congratulated Prime Minister Modi and Finance Minister Sitharaman for preparing a budget focused on the future, youth empowerment, public welfare, and job creation. The budget also brings relief and hope particularly for the poor and middle class.
Pradhan outlined that the ‘Developed India Budget’ is inspired by three duties: fast and sustainable economic growth, fulfilling everyone’s aspirations, and providing resources, opportunities, and facilities to every family and community. He said the budget will boost growth across sectors, energise education, innovation, and skilling, strengthen MSMEs, expand tourism and healthcare, develop Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as new growth centres, and increase purchasing power of common households.
He added that more money will remain in people’s pockets and the pace of reforms will quicken. The budget ensures that the benefits of economic growth reach over 140 crore citizens at the grassroots, which Pradhan described as the true identity of a ‘Developed India’.
