New Delhi, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : The Border Security Force (BSF) celebrated BWWA Day 2026 at its Nizamuddin complex in New Delhi on September 18. The event featured Richa Jha, the president of the Border Security Force Wives Welfare Association (BWWA), as the chief guest.
Around 130 brave women and family members of deceased BSF personnel joined BWWA members for the occasion. The presence of these women added an emotional and proud atmosphere to the event.
During the program, several women and two differently-abled children of BSF soldiers were recognized for their courage and resilience. Special honors were also given to the BSF women’s mountaineering team, who recently conquered Mount Everest and proudly sang “Vande Mataram” at the summit.
Additionally, athletes who represented the country and BSF in various national and international sports events were acknowledged. Officials stated that their achievements serve as a source of pride and inspiration for the entire BSF family.
A highlight of the event was the launch of the 24th edition of the BWWA magazine “Praharini Sangini.” This publication showcases the welfare activities of BWWA and the initiatives taken to raise awareness among BSF family members.
Richa Jha personally interacted with the brave women, patiently listening to their concerns and assuring them of appropriate actions to address their grievances. The event concluded with a community feast, symbolizing the unity and warmth of the BWWA community.
In her address, Jha praised the dedication and compassionate efforts of BWWA over the past years. She emphasized the theme for 2026, “Power of She,” and activities centered around this theme.
