Miami, June 25: Brazil delivered an impressive performance, defeating Scotland 3-0 to secure their place in the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The match took place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, where star player Vinicius Junior scored two goals, and Matheus Cunha added another.

Neymar made his long-awaited return to the Brazilian squad for this match. From the outset, Brazil showcased aggressive play, maintaining constant pressure on Scotland. They took the lead in the sixth minute, capitalizing on a defensive error from Scotland. Vinicius Junior scored a stunning goal, marking his fourth goal of the tournament and placing him in contention for the Golden Boot alongside Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

Brazil continued to dominate after the first goal. Vinicius had another goal disallowed after a VAR review deemed it a foul. However, during stoppage time of the first half, he seized an opportunity to extend Brazil’s lead to 2-0, scoring with a brilliant header from a cross by Bruno Guimarães.

Scotland attempted to mount a comeback several times but failed to penetrate Brazil’s solid defense. Matheus Cunha scored Brazil’s third goal, finishing expertly from a precise pass by Bruno Guimarães, sealing the victory at 3-0.
