Blue Water Area Girls Basketball Teams Sweep Wins in Busy Night

PORT HURON — The Blue Water Area witnessed an impressive night of girls high school basketball on Tuesday, January 27, as several teams secured wins across the region.

Port Huron defeated Macomb Dakota 68-54, led by Mariah Turner’s 30 points. Beautiful Ontiveroz added 16 points, and Brooklyn Ware contributed 13. The Red Hawks are set to play Grosse Pointe South at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 29.

Port Huron Northern earned a 54-23 victory over South Lake with Ava Cendejas scoring 18 points. Adeline Jones scored 15 and Pearl Porrett had nine. The Huskies will host Marysville at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 2.

St. Clair dominated Lake Shore 46-23. Gracie Pickelhaupt led with 11 points, followed by Anna Kehoe’s 10 and Brea Mullins’ eight. The Saints travel to Harrison Township L’Anse Creuse for a 7 p.m. game on Thursday, January 29.

Marysville secured a 56-42 win against Chippewa Valley, with Kendal Quain scoring a game-high 22 points. Harper Sharrow added seven points. The Vikings will visit Port Huron Northern at 7 p.m. on Monday, February 2.

Marine City triumphed over Roseville 56-32. Audrey Northrup scored 13 points, while Mallory Griffin contributed 11 points and nine rebounds. The Mariners face St. Clair Shores Lake Shore at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 26.

Almont defeated Algonac 52-22, with Madi Derk posting 21 points and Rachael Johnson adding 13. The Raiders will host Peck at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28. Algonac heads to North Branch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 30.

Armada won 32-25 against North Branch. Valeria Ricossa scored 13 points and Ava Kuroski added eight. The Tigers welcome Imlay City at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 30.

Peck defeated Caseville 56-21, highlighted by Aletta Jones’ 19-point, 21-rebound double-double. Lizzie Schultz added 12 points and eight rebounds, while Allison Cramer contributed 10 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Peck travels to Almont for a 7 p.m. game on Wednesday, January 28.

Richmond edged Imlay City 46-40. Lexi Hunter scored 11 points for Richmond, with Julia Rancilio and Audrina Nader adding 10 points each. The Blue Devils will host Croswell-Lexington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 30. Alexis Bruyere led Imlay City with 15 points, and Makayla Bruman scored 14. The Spartans travel to Armada at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 30.

Sandusky beat Brown City 31-21, with Maggy Keinath and Caroline Reinke each scoring eight points. The Wolves host Memphis at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 29.

Yale dominated Croswell-Lexington 67-29. Sadie Dykstra scored 30 points, while Aubree Churchill added 14. The Bulldogs will entertain Almont at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 30. Violet Bird scored 12 points for Croswell-Lexington, and Penelope Persig added nine. The Pioneers visit Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, January 30.
