Bhagalpur, June 15: BJP leader Preeti Shekhar has sharply criticized the political landscape of West Bengal and the leadership of the Trinamool Congress (TMC). In a recent conversation, she emphasized that the core ideology of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is rooted in strong nationalism, making it natural for leaders from opposition parties to be drawn towards this ideology.
Shekhar stated that the BJP’s foundational principle is vigorous nationalism, which resonates with every citizen of the country. She claimed that the sentiment of nationalism is gaining strength across the nation, with more people embracing it.
Targeting the TMC leadership, she noted that there has been a long-standing political scenario characterized by a lack of ideology and centralized decision-making. She accused the party leadership of failing to communicate effectively, leading to growing discontent among workers and representatives. According to her, when an organization disregards the voices of its members, discontent is bound to rise. This has resulted in several leaders distancing themselves from the party and seeking new political alternatives.
Shekhar described this as a political lesson, asserting that parties focused solely on self-interest or nepotism will eventually face the consequences from the public. She emphasized that the purpose of politics should not merely be to gain power but to serve the people. Using the TMC as an example, she warned that this situation serves as a cautionary tale for parties that overlook transparency and organizational democracy. She believes that the public no longer accepts leadership that is centered solely around family or a limited circle.
Furthermore, Shekhar stated that the BJP is a party that welcomes individuals from all ideologies, provided they prioritize national interest. She highlighted the party’s commitment to the principle that “the party is greater than the individual, and the nation is greater than the party.”
She also mentioned that the BJP is always open to those who wish to align with a nationalist mindset. According to her, all individuals working for the nation’s benefit should unite on a common platform to contribute to building a stronger India.
