Pune, February 21: BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala has labeled Congress MP Rahul Gandhi as one of the biggest liars in the country and the world during his remarks at the AI Summit. He accused Gandhi of being a proponent of hate and falsehood, stating that he lies about issues like the Rafale deal and Vinayak Savarkar.
In an interview, Poonawala claimed that Gandhi’s repeated court appearances stem from his false statements regarding the RSS. He emphasized that the court has reprimanded Gandhi for his actions, branding him as the “Leader of Propaganda.” According to Poonawala, Gandhi spreads propaganda and lies, and the court holds him accountable for it.
Poonawala also took a jab at Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, suggesting that the siblings harbor disdain for the North East, particularly Assam. He referenced an incident where Rahul Gandhi refused to accept a traditional ‘gamosa’ during a reception at the President’s residence. A viral video allegedly shows Priyanka Vadra disrespecting the gamosa by throwing it inside a car, which many view as an insult to the culture and traditions of Assam.
Commenting on the Youth Congress‘s protest at the AI Summit, Poonawala stated that the Congress party has devolved from being “shirtless” to “characterless, tasteless, shameless, pointless, and brainless.” He asserted that their actions do not reflect the values of the Indian National Congress but rather those of an “Anti-National Congress.” He criticized their protest at a national summit as contrary to the party’s principles.
Regarding the support the Youth Congress received from party leaders, Poonawala condemned their attempts to disrupt the event and damage its reputation. He expressed disappointment that the Congress party did not show wisdom in handling the situation, and instead, they defended the Youth Congress’s actions, drawing comparisons to figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Bhagat Singh. This, he argued, indicates that the Youth Congress’s actions were carried out at Rahul Gandhi’s behest, with the party now fully backing them.
