New Delhi, July 29: BJP MPs have strongly reacted to allegations made against Union Education Minister Prahlad Joshi by Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. They dismissed the claims as baseless and accused Congress of undermining the dignity of Parliament. The BJP leaders emphasized the need to rise above political blame games and focus on reforms, especially concerning serious issues like paper leaks.
BJP MP Sushmita Dev spoke to reporters, stating that there is a clear rule in Parliament that members should engage more in discussions about bills rather than delivering political speeches. She added that if any member makes false or misleading statements, the Speaker will take action according to established parliamentary procedures. In today’s age of social media, every statement and activity is recorded, and the truth will eventually come out, clarifying “milk from milk and water from water.”
Regarding the issue of paper leaks, Sushmita Dev noted that this problem is not confined to any single government or party; it has a long history in the country. She urged all political parties to accept their responsibilities. The current discussion should not merely focus on accusations but should aim to improve the education system. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, a law has been introduced for the first time to prevent paper leaks. Students across the nation want both the ruling and opposition parties to reflect on their roles and implement solid changes to prevent such incidents.
Rajasthan BJP President and MP Madan Rathore criticized Priyanka Gandhi’s remarks as inappropriate. He stated that it is not suitable to make such comments about a seasoned leader who has successfully served in various ministries. Rathore expressed disappointment, expecting a more balanced statement from Gandhi.
BJP MP Darshan Singh Chaudhary also targeted Congress, asserting that it has consistently undermined the decorum of Parliament. He accused Congress of talking about the Constitution while failing to adhere to it. He emphasized that serious and constructive discussions should take place on issues that require parliamentary decisions, rather than attempts to disrupt the atmosphere through personal accusations.
Meanwhile, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Krishna Prasad Teneti criticized Priyanka Gandhi’s allegations, describing them as a political attempt to tarnish Prahlad Joshi’s image. He lamented that targeting the minister as soon as work begins on such a sensitive issue as education is unfortunate. He assured that such political attacks will not hinder the government’s efforts in education reform.
