New Delhi, August 15: On the occasion of Independence Day, BJP MP Dr. Rabindra Narayan Behera praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech from the Red Fort and his vision for a developed India by 2047. He emphasized that PM Modi has committed to transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, focusing on sectors such as agriculture, food processing, critical minerals, energy, and manufacturing.
Dr. Behera highlighted the initiative for women’s reservation as a significant step towards equality and women’s empowerment in the country. He also criticized the Congress party, supporting PM Modi’s comments regarding the respect for ‘Vande Mataram‘ and national symbols, as well as his remarks about ‘intellectual Naxals.’
The MP noted that on Independence Day, the Prime Minister hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort, extending best wishes to the citizens and reaffirming the commitment to make India a developed nation by 2047. He mentioned the ‘seven streams’ outlined by the Prime Minister for a developed India, which include major developments in agriculture, food processing, critical minerals, and energy. These sectors are crucial for strengthening India’s economic and strategic position. The vision is particularly aimed at the youth and the future.
Dr. Behera stressed the need to enhance India’s manufacturing capabilities. He stated that India should evolve not just as a large consumer market but also as a robust manufacturing nation. He linked the effective use of critical minerals to the country’s strategic strength, asserting that India must maximize its resources. The roles of women and youth are vital in achieving the goal of a developed India, and empowering both can fortify the nation.
Commending PM Modi’s initiative for women’s reservation, Dr. Behera remarked that increased representation of women in decision-making processes would bolster equality in the country. Women and youth are two significant forces for India. If given adequate opportunities and platforms, the nation can progress rapidly. Women’s development, reservation, and youth empowerment, along with enhancing India’s production capacity, are crucial components of building a developed India.
Targeting Congress, the BJP MP recalled the violence and displacement during the partition. He stated that many suffered during that time, and Congress has not sufficiently worked for the broader interests of the country. The terms ‘urban Naxal’ and ‘intellectual Naxal’ used by PM Modi point to a serious issue. Certain forces may attempt to influence the youth and divert them from the path of development.
A political controversy also emerged after a video surfaced on social media showing Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge during the singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ at an event held at the Congress headquarters. Dr. Behera criticized Congress for not respecting national symbols, stating that they have been accused of insufficient respect for Parliament and the national flag, and now questions are arising regarding the national song ‘Vande Mataram.’
He asserted that during the singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ in Parliament or at events of national significance, all leaders should show appropriate respect. He described the video circulating on social media as a serious issue, emphasizing that the national song is tied to the country’s spirit and national honor.
BJP MP also responded to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s call to make India a global leader during the flag hoisting at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur on Independence Day. Dr. Behera regarded Bhagwat’s statement as a vision related to India’s future and nation-building. He noted that many global powers are watching India due to its rapidly growing influence and development. He claimed that some foreign entities might attempt to disrupt India’s development journey, potentially targeting the youth.
