New Delhi, March 12: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has accused opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and other opposition MPs of behaving like they are on a ‘picnic’ at the Makar Dwaar, despite a ban on protests.
Speaking to the media in Parliament, Dubey emphasized that the public should receive LPG connections, and if there are issues, the government will address them. He highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided gas connections to poor women.
Dubey criticized Gandhi, stating, “What are you doing? Parliament is not a place for picnics. There is a distinction between movements on the road and in Parliament. The Speaker has directed that no protests are allowed at Makar Dwaar. The Speaker reiterated this today.”
He further remarked on the state of the Congress party, questioning how the Gandhi family has remained out of power for so long. “Given the current circumstances, Congress will not return to power by 2047. They seem to think their entire lives will pass like this,” he added.
Dubey claimed that Rajiv Gandhi will be remembered as the ‘last ruler’ of the Congress. He criticized Rahul Gandhi for being unaware of parliamentary rules and the differences between street protests and parliamentary actions. “The Congress party has been exposed for trying to fool the public,” he stated.
He presented a photograph showing Rahul Gandhi and other MPs sitting at the Parliament gate, showcasing LPG cylinders while enjoying refreshments.
Dubey raised this issue in the House and informed the Chair. He mentioned that he has issued a notice, stating, “Parliament is not a picnic spot. The Speaker has ordered that no protests are allowed at Makar Dwaar, and no tea or coffee can be consumed there. What is this?”
He stressed that the LPG issue is a serious concern for the poor, yet they are treating it like a picnic. “They are there with four friends, drinking tea and coffee. Is this the Speaker’s directive? The government is concerned about the LPG issue, but what kind of behavior is this? Action should be taken against Rahul Gandhi.”
