Purnia, March 12: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Purnia on Thursday as part of the Prosperity Journey. During his visit, he inspected various ongoing projects and issued directives to officials.
The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for 92 developmental projects worth ₹485 crore via remote. This includes the inauguration of 84 projects at a cost of ₹164 crore and the foundation laying of eight projects costing ₹321 crore.
He also toured the premises of the Maa Puran Devi Temple to assess the beautification and development efforts underway. As part of the announcements made during the Prosperity Journey, he inaugurated the newly constructed two-lane road from State Highway 60 to the Puran Devi Temple and the strengthening work of the road from Line Bazaar Chowk to Polytechnic Chowk via Rajani Chowk.
Under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali campaign, the Chief Minister inspected the restoration and beautification work of the pond located in the temple complex. Local artists welcomed him with a Jhijhiya dance. He also reviewed the stalls set up by Bihar Bal Bhavan Kilkari in the temple area.
During the Prosperity Journey, the Chief Minister sought detailed information from officials regarding the announced projects. He inspected the newly established district-level offices of the Dairy, Fisheries, and Animal Resources Department at the district resource and training center. During his inspection, he interacted with local livestock farmers.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stated that the state government is committed to the development of all sectors. He mentioned that several important schemes are being implemented to promote agriculture and animal husbandry, aiming to enhance the economic prosperity of Bihar’s farmers and livestock breeders. He encouraged farmers, saying, “You all work with full dedication. The government will provide all possible support.” The Chief Minister also observed the stalls set up by various departments.
