Kolkata, February 17: BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi has launched a scathing attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of resorting to desperate measures to salvage their impending defeat in the upcoming assembly elections.

In a media interaction in Kolkata, Trivedi expressed that Banerjee appears to be in a state of panic, fully aware of her party’s likely loss. He sarcastically commented on her recent visit to Delhi, suggesting that her true intention was to protect fraudulent voters by donning a black coat and traveling 1,500 kilometers away, while neglecting a serious fire incident just seven kilometers from her residence in Anandapur.

Regarding the Supreme Court’s stance on the Special Investigation Team (SIT), Trivedi emphasized that the process is being conducted with complete transparency. He stated that the TMC’s anxiety over their electoral prospects has led them to engage in questionable practices.

On the recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at the TMC’s office in Kolkata, Trivedi noted that Banerjee personally attended the site. He pointed out that typically, a Chief Minister does not handle files directly, indicating a lack of trust in her own staff. This raises concerns about her credibility among the public, he added.

Trivedi also referenced the High Court’s intervention regarding land allocation for border fencing in West Bengal, highlighting that it is the only state where this issue persists. He mentioned that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has repeatedly addressed this matter, suggesting that political interests are being prioritized over national security. The people of Bengal are watching closely and will respond accordingly, he warned.
