BJP Leaders Embrace Eco-Friendly Travel Following PM Modis Call to Save Fuel

New Delhi, May 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for fuel conservation is making waves across the country. BJP leaders and officials are adopting various methods to convey that saving petrol and diesel is not just a financial issue but also crucial for national interest and environmental protection.

In this spirit, Uttar Pradesh’s Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna cycled to his office in Lucknow. He stated, “It is our national responsibility to conserve fuel, as a significant amount of foreign currency is spent on imports. Approximately 85-86% of our fuel needs are met through imports, which strains our foreign reserves. Given the current global situation and international challenges, it is imperative for every citizen to contribute to fuel conservation.”

In Delhi, Jamal Siddiqui, president of the BJP Minority Morcha, also rode a bicycle to the party office. He mentioned that following the Prime Minister’s appeal, party workers nationwide will use bicycles for short distances and encourage others to do the same. He emphasized that this initiative will not only reduce fuel consumption but also improve public health.

BJP MP Gyaneshwar Patil from Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, traveled by train to Khandwa, urging citizens to use public transport whenever possible to protect the environment.

In Haryana, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat arrived in Kurukshetra by train and then cycled to Gurukul with his wife. He described this as a vital step towards fuel conservation and environmental protection.

Haryana Minister Ranbir Singh Gangwa noted that Prime Minister Modi has set an example by reducing his convoy size, and now Haryana ministers will follow suit. Similarly, Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has also cut down the number of vehicles in his convoy.

In Maharashtra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was seen riding a bike to the Vidhan Bhavan, while Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary departed for Darbhanga with a minimal convoy of just two vehicles. Additionally, BJP spokesperson Shah Nawaz Hussain opted for an electric vehicle.
