BJP Leaders Accuse Rahul Gandhi of Betrayal Amid Political Tensions

Lucknow, May 22: BJP leaders have expressed their outrage over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s use of the term “betrayer” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. They argue that it is Rahul Gandhi himself who embodies betrayal.

Anil Rajbhar, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, responded sharply to Gandhi’s remarks. He suggested that the Congress party should reflect on its own history to gain a better understanding. Rajbhar highlighted the tumultuous events during Congress’s rule, referencing former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Rajiv Gandhi, and pointed out that serious questions have long surrounded the party. He believes that Gandhi’s inflammatory language stems from the Congress’s inability to defeat the BJP and Modi in elections.

Rajbhar noted that recent election results in several states have favored the BJP, with strong performances even in West Bengal. He attributed the visible frustration and despair among opposition parties to these outcomes. He described Gandhi’s comments as an emotional reaction, asserting that such political tactics do not resonate with the public.

State Minister Vijay Lakshmi Gautam also weighed in on the matter, stating that Prime Minister Modi has advanced development initiatives with his pledge of “neither will I take bribes, nor will I allow others to.” She emphasized Modi’s ongoing commitment to building a “developed India.” Gautam accused Gandhi of disregarding democratic decorum and the dignity of language, asserting that such remarks against the nation’s top leadership are inappropriate. She urged all citizens to respect India’s culture and democratic values.

Rohit Kumar Singh, the national coordinator of Youth Awakening, also criticized Gandhi’s statements. He suggested that if the term “betrayer” is to be discussed, questions could also be raised about Gandhi himself. He referenced Gandhi’s visit to Raebareli, questioning his engagement with his family’s constituency. Singh concluded that the public is observant and will ultimately determine who is truly responsible to the nation.
