New Delhi, March 5: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. While the ruling party praised Kumar’s decision, the opposition accused him of succumbing to pressure from the BJP. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav claimed that the BJP has hijacked Nitish Kumar.
In response to Yadav’s statement, BJP leader Gaurav Vallabh asserted that there is no culture of hijacking within the BJP. He suggested that such practices are prevalent in the RJD and its family dynamics.
Tejashwi Yadav reiterated that he has consistently warned that after the elections, BJP members would not allow Nitish Kumar to remain as Chief Minister. “Today, that statement has come true. The BJP has completely hijacked Nitish Kumar,” he stated.
Vallabh countered Yadav’s hijacking claims by stating that such incidents occur within Yadav’s party. He emphasized that there is no hijacking culture in JD(U) and BJP. He also noted that the RJD’s dynastic politics has been effectively locked away, and the party no longer holds a significant position in Bihar’s political landscape. “Bihar has permanently adopted a model of good governance over jungle raj,” he added.
Vallabh highlighted that Nitish Kumar expressed his desire to serve in the Rajya Sabha, stating that his guidance and vision will continue to benefit Bihar. He confidently asserted that the Bihar government will keep working for the state’s progress. The NDA government remains committed to creating jobs for the youth and empowering women.
Regarding the political entry of Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, Vallabh mentioned that it is a decision for the JD(U) to make, and it is inappropriate for him to comment on internal party matters. He emphasized that the best decisions for Bihar should be made.
Vallabh also took a jab at Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, labeling him an enemy of the country’s Muslims. He pointed out that while many from Kerala and Tamil Nadu work in Gulf countries, the local governments are committed to ensuring their safety. “Gandhi does not want them to be secure, which is why he makes such statements,” Vallabh remarked. He concluded by affirming that Prime Minister Modi’s model is about inclusive development, with India’s foreign policy centered on “Nation First.”
