BJP Leader Responds to Mamata Banerjees Questions on SIR in West Bengal

New Delhi, March 3: BJP leader Praveen Khandelwal has responded to Mamata Banerjee’s questions regarding the SIR in West Bengal. Speaking to reporters, he stated that the Supreme Court has clarified that the SIR falls under the Election Commission’s jurisdiction. It is the responsibility of the Election Commission to remove illegal immigrants from the voter list, as well as the names of deceased individuals or those who no longer reside in the area.

Khandelwal criticized Banerjee, claiming that her past actions of sheltering illegal immigrants make their removal from the voter list a natural consequence. He noted that Banerjee seems to be worried about losing her voter base, but she overlooks the fact that the misgovernance in West Bengal has compelled the people to seek a change in power. He suggested that her statement reflects her frustration.

Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s comments, Khandelwal emphasized that every process in democracy is defined. If anyone disagrees with a decision made by the Election Commission, they should approach the Commission directly. He suggested that the call for a boycott stems from the Congress party’s repeated failures in elections across the country. Under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, Congress has lost 99 elections, and he likely does not want Bengal to contribute to that total. Instead of boycotting, he urged participation in the elections.

Khandelwal expressed that there is unwavering trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi among the people. He highlighted the determination with which Modi is positioning India as a leading nation, which is why a significant number of youth are following the Prime Minister.

On Sonia Gandhi’s remarks regarding the conflict between Israel and Iran, Khandelwal dismissed them as misconceptions. He suggested that she fails to recognize the success and diplomacy of the country’s foreign policy, asserting that the issue lies not in the policy itself but in her intentions.
