Ahmedabad, April 24: BJP MP Manoj Tiwari launched a fierce attack on opposition leader Rahul Gandhi during a Lok Sabha session on Friday, accusing him of being a ‘Chinese agent.’ This statement came in light of a controversial moment referenced in former Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane’s unpublished memoir regarding the India-China border tensions.
Tiwari stated, “You can fully believe that Rahul Gandhi is a Chinese agent. He is an enemy of India. The Congress, under his leadership, does not have the country’s best interests at heart, which is why various incidents are occurring under his watch.”
He also accused Gandhi of repeatedly insulting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “He has left no stone unturned in making derogatory remarks against PM Modi, even calling him a terrorist. This is about a person who has instilled fear in generations of terrorists, yet such statements are made,” Tiwari remarked.
Naravane clarified the context of the phrase ‘Do what you deem appropriate,’ which was allegedly stated by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. He emphasized that this statement reflects the government’s ‘full confidence’ in the armed forces and stressed that such matters should not be politicized.
Additionally, Tiwari commented on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s recent statement, “I was born in Bengal, and I will take my last breath here.” Questioning her intentions, he asked, “Why is she talking about dying? Elections are about winning or losing. What does death have to do with it?”
He accused Banerjee of using emotional rhetoric to sway voters and claimed her government has failed to ensure security and good governance in the state. Tiwari referenced incidents like the RG Kar case, asserting that law and order have deteriorated, necessitating intervention from the High Court to ensure proper legal action.
He alleged that West Bengal is under ‘goonda raj,’ where people are not free to vote or support other parties without fear. Tiwari credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah’s leadership for improving conditions and encouraging more people to vote.
