Agra, September 3: A controversy has arisen in Fatehpur Sikri, Uttar Pradesh, following inappropriate comments made by a police officer during a meeting of the Agarwal Seva Samiti at the Jai Shri Ram Temple on Wednesday night. Attendees from the Agarwal community expressed their outrage over the remarks, leading to a protest at the local police station demanding action against the officers involved.
The meeting was underway when some attendees called the police for assistance. During this time, Varun Pawar, the local station in-charge, allegedly used offensive language while reprimanding those present. This comment sparked anger among the attendees.
In response, community members voiced their dissent and marched towards the Fatehpur Sikri police station, where they lodged a complaint with Station House Officer Anand Veer Singh. They demanded action against Varun Pawar and constable Hemant Chaudhary for their inappropriate remarks.
The station officer appealed for calm and attempted to de-escalate the situation, but the protesters remained firm in their demands, staging a sit-in outside the police station late into the night.
Community representatives also informed local MP and BJP district president about the incident, which subsequently reached senior police officials. Taking the matter seriously, DCP West Aditya Kumar ordered the suspension of Varun Pawar and Hemant Chaudhary.
Following this police action, the protesters decided to end their sit-in. Police officials stated that the incident was taken seriously and appropriate measures were implemented regarding the allegations of misconduct.
