BJP Criticizes Congresss Rajghat March as Political Drama

New Delhi, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a sharp counterattack against the Congress Party’s protest regarding the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of the electoral rolls. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had invited party MPs for lunch at Connaught Place and called for a march to Rajghat under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. The BJP dismissed this as mere political theatrics.

Former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi criticized Congress’s actions, stating, “Their obsession with transforming from street brawlers to street fighters is manifesting as chaos and confusion. This competition will not benefit them; rather, it will lead to their downfall. When there is a lack of wisdom, such behavior is expected.”

Naqvi emphasized that movements are a vital aspect of democracy. He noted, “If you begin to hold the entire constitutional framework and institutions hostage due to power madness, it is unacceptable.”

Mocking Congress’s event, Naqvi remarked, “First, they had stage shows, and now it’s a street show. This is all hasty and disorganized. They arrange for lunch and then tell people to create a ruckus on the streets. If they had trained with a good movement coach, such disarray wouldn’t be visible.”

BJP National Spokesperson Guru Prakash rejected Congress’s accusations, asserting that the Supreme Court’s constitutional bench in Bihar has clarified that SIR is a constitutional process. He stated, “You are acting against the constitutional process and the Constitution itself. There is no issue among the people. You are not working effectively.”

Prakash also pointed out that with elections approaching in five states, Congress has changed its state presidents. “Now they are protesting. When they lose the elections, they will blame the Election Commission. This is a strategy to find excuses before the defeat,” he added.
