BJP Claims Supreme Court Ruling Exposes Rahul Gandhi and Congress

New Delhi, May 27: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stated on Wednesday that the Supreme Court‘s decision regarding the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of voter lists has revealed the true face of opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party, suggesting they supported illegal immigrants.

The Supreme Court upheld the Election Commission’s decision to conduct the SIR, affirming that this process falls within the constitutional and legal rights of the Election Commission. The court emphasized that the aim is to maintain a clean and fair electoral process.

In response, BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari remarked, “Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party have been exposed! The Supreme Court has declared the SIR process valid and constitutional!”

He added, “It is clear that Rahul Gandhi and Congress have opposed this from the start because they stand with illegal immigrants rather than Indian voters. This is truly an anti-national step. Will Rahul Gandhi now apologize for tarnishing Indian democracy?”

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla also reacted to the ruling. He noted that the Supreme Court upheld the SIR and commented that the Election Commission possesses the constitutional authority to conduct it. He stated that the SIR process has been conducted in accordance with the rules, with no violations.

Poonawalla described the Supreme Court’s decision as a blow to those who refuse to show documents. He likened it to a surgical strike against a group that uses the SIR as an excuse during elections. He pointed out that while Congress blames the SIR in Bengal, they find it acceptable in Kerala, where they have succeeded in elections. He remarked that when Congress conducted the SIR, it was fine, but now that it is happening under BJP governance, it is deemed wrong.

He further mentioned that during the Bihar elections, these individuals raised the SIR issue but failed to provide any documentation. The court has acknowledged that the SIR conducted in Bihar and Bengal was appropriate. He criticized those who question the Election Commission and the EVMs, stating that a significant blow has been dealt to the entire system. In light of this, he suggested that those questioning the SIR should apologize.
