New Delhi, October 12 (DailyKiran) — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Jammu and Kashmir. The list includes the names of Ghulam Mohammad Mir, Rakesh Mahajan, and Shat Sharma.

Shat Sharma, who currently serves as the President of the BJP’s Jammu and Kashmir unit, has been fielded under the third notification for the Rajya Sabha polls. The BJP reportedly holds a numerical advantage over the National Conference–Congress alliance in this round.
The seat from which Sharma will contest has 28 votes in favour of the BJP, compared to 24 votes for the opposition alliance.
The Rajya Sabha elections for these seats are scheduled to take place on October 24.
