BJP Accuses Congress of Undermining Democracy Amid Election Commission Controversy

New Delhi, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : In a recent press conference at the BJP headquarters, national spokesperson Dr. Sambit Patra addressed accusations from the opposition regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. He claimed that certain opposition parties, particularly the Congress, are attempting to destabilize the government and elevate Rahul Gandhi to power.

Patra stated, “Our aim is to present serious issues based on facts to the public. Some opposition parties are working tirelessly to change the government and promote Rahul Gandhi. This assault on our constitutional institutions has been ongoing for years, not just a few months.”

He highlighted that the Congress has consistently attempted to launch and relaunch Rahul Gandhi politically. “In this process, the Indian Army, the Supreme Court, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), and the Election Commission have come under attack. Recently, there have been assaults on the Election Commission as well. We believe that Congress is trying to create chaos using the Election Commission,” he added.

Patra emphasized the need for the BJP to clarify the situation to the public, especially with the upcoming rallies and marches organized by the opposition. He mentioned the spread of misinformation regarding the SIR and the recent petition filed in the Supreme Court against the Election Commission, which demanded the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner over alleged illegal modifications to Form 6.

He pointed out that Rahul Gandhi had posted on social media, claiming that the changes to Form 6 were illegal and a misuse of authority to benefit the BJP. Patra vowed to debunk Gandhi’s claims one by one, asserting that the Election Commission had conducted a fact-check and deemed the allegations false.

“The Supreme Court has not approved any changes to Form 6,” he stated, referring to the court’s recent remarks. He noted that the court would examine any modifications made to the form when the matter is brought forward officially.

Patra countered Gandhi’s assertion that the Election Commission was aiding the BJP, stating that the commission had acted within its constitutional rights to ensure the electoral roll’s integrity. He also questioned the validity of Congress’s claims regarding past elections, pointing out that key appointments were made long before the BJP’s recent electoral successes.

“The assistance we receive is not from Gyanesh Kumar but from Ganesh Ji, the deity of wisdom and intellect,” he concluded, reinforcing the BJP’s commitment to transparency and electoral integrity.
