BJP Critiques Congress Ahead of Rahul Gandhis Rally in Dehradun
Ahead of a key rally, BJP leader criticizes Congress for alleged excuses over electoral challenges and remarks on womens issues.

Dehradun, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions have escalated in Dehradun as the Congress party prepares for its upcoming ‘India’ bloc rally on November 1 in Delhi. BJP’s state general secretary, Deepti Rawat Bhardwaj, has launched a sharp critique against Congress, accusing them of fabricating excuses such as EVM tampering and vote theft in anticipation of electoral defeat.
Rawat stated, “If Rahul Gandhi believes that the Home Minister is urging people not to attend on a specific date and they heed that advice, it reflects poorly on his rally’s appeal. He needs to consider why he is holding these events at all.”
She emphasized that if the public is inclined to follow the Home Minister’s guidance over Gandhi’s calls for attendance, it indicates a significant shift in public sentiment. “Gandhi must grasp this reality. Frankly, his claims sound like excuses; he knows the state of his party,” Rawat added.
The BJP leader further questioned Congress’s ability to rally support in Uttarakhand, suggesting that if the party were to begin its campaign across the state and fail to gather even 50 attendees, it would expose their dwindling influence. “They are preemptively crafting excuses. Just as they blame EVMs and vote theft during elections, they are already trying to justify a lack of turnout,” she remarked.
Rawat also took issue with a recent social media post from Congress that she deemed disrespectful towards women. “The language used in a post about women participating in a march was utterly disgraceful. Our Sevika Samiti sisters were present, and to compare them to monkeys is offensive,” she stated.
She called for an apology from Congress, asserting that the party has consistently disrespected women. “This incident is not just an insult to our leaders but to women across the state. Congress owes an apology to every woman in Uttarakhand,” Rawat insisted.
Highlighting Congress’s poor performance in recent MLC elections, Rawat noted that the party failed to secure any seats in four states, including Karnataka, where they hold power. “Their inability to win even a single MLC seat is a testament to their decline,” she said.
Rawat urged Congress to reflect on its strategies and public perception, questioning whether they would continue to blame EVMs or ballot papers for their failures. “It’s time for them to reassess their policies and regain the trust of the electorate,” she concluded.
