Business Leaders Urge Rahul Gandhi to Postpone Rally Amid Diwali Concerns
Traders in New Delhi are asking Rahul Gandhi to delay his upcoming rally to avoid disrupting business during the Diwali season.

New Delhi, October 30 (Daily Kiran) : Traders in New Delhi have expressed their concerns to Rahul Gandhi regarding his upcoming rally scheduled for November 1. They are urging him not to disrupt their businesses during the crucial Diwali season.
Paramjit Singh Pamma, president of the Sadder Bazaar Bari Market Traders Association, voiced the frustrations of local merchants. He stated that many are upset and feel that Gandhi should understand their plight. Pamma suggested that postponing the rally would not pose any issues for Gandhi.
He questioned, “You claim to run a ‘shop of love,’ but why are you ruining our businesses in the process? Why are you destroying our shops?”
Pamma highlighted that their businesses are nearly collapsing, leading to cancellations of customer orders. He warned that if Gandhi does not acknowledge the struggles of traders, they may boycott the Congress party in the upcoming elections and protest against him.
The festive season is particularly important for traders who stock up in anticipation of Diwali. Pamma emphasized that a rally during this time could deter customers from shopping, resulting in significant losses.
Rajiv Agarwal, treasurer of the Chandni Chowk Traders Council, expressed hope that Gandhi and his party would reconsider their plans and reschedule the rally. He acknowledged the importance of exercising democratic rights but suggested that the event could be postponed in light of the festive season.
As the countdown to Diwali continues, the call for a delay in the rally underscores the tension between political activities and the economic realities faced by local businesses.
