Bihars New Governor Takes Oath in Simple Ceremony

Patna, March 14: Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain was sworn in as the new Governor of Bihar on Saturday at Lok Bhawan. The Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Sangam Kumar Sahu, administered the oath during a modest ceremony attended by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, and several dignitaries and senior officials.

General Hasnain arrived in Patna on March 12. Upon his arrival, he was honored with a ‘Guard of Honor’ by the state government at the airport. He is well-known for his exemplary service and strategic leadership in the Indian Army. Throughout his extensive military career, he has held several significant responsibilities, particularly in matters of security.

With nearly 40 years of service in the Indian Army, General Hasnain has played vital roles in Jammu and Kashmir. Under his leadership, the army initiated several social initiatives aimed at youth education and employment, striving to integrate the youth of Kashmir into the mainstream.

His approach, which combines security, diplomacy, and social coordination, has distinguished him in his field. He has also served as the Chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir and as a member of the National Disaster Management Authority.

His appointment as the Governor of Bihar is considered significant from both administrative and strategic perspectives.
