Bihars Deputy Chief Ministers Granted Z-Category Security

Patna, April 18: Following the formation of a new government in Bihar, Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav will now receive Z-category security. The state government has made this decision, and the Home Department has issued a notification regarding the enhanced security measures.

According to the notification, both Deputy Chief Ministers will be provided with Z-category security. An official stated that this decision was made after recommendations from the state security committee, which convened at the Bihar Police Headquarters in Patna to assess the security classification for prominent individuals in the state.

Z-category security includes a dedicated team of trained personnel equipped with advanced weapons. Additionally, Shravan Kumar, a close associate of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and a former minister from his home district, has also been granted Y-plus category security, which includes an escort.

Furthermore, the security for former Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has been downgraded. He will now receive Z-category security instead of Z-plus. Nishant Kumar, the national president of the Janata Dal United (JDU) and son of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has also seen an increase in his security level, now receiving Z-category protection.

Former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is currently a member of the Rajya Sabha, was recently granted Z-plus category security by the state government.

On April 15, Bihar witnessed the formation of its first government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), with Samrat Chaudhary taking office as Chief Minister. Currently, only the two Deputy Chief Ministers have taken their oaths, with expectations of cabinet expansion following elections in other states.
