Bihar Vigilance Department Raids Homes of Suspended IAS Officers in Tender Scam Investigation

Patna, June 19: The investigation into the high-profile Rishu Shri tender scam in Bihar has gained momentum. On Friday, the Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) conducted simultaneous raids at multiple locations linked to suspended IAS officers and a private contractor in Patna.

Raids were carried out at the residences of suspended IAS officers Abhilasha Sharma and Yogesh Sagar, as well as at properties associated with Pawan Kumar, director of Maatri Seva Infra Private Limited.

An SVU team arrived early in the morning at the government residence of Yogesh Sagar in Gardanibagh Colony and initiated a thorough search operation. Officials examined documents, electronic devices, and records related to government contracts and financial transactions. Several documents were seized for further investigation.

Another team simultaneously raided Abhilasha Sharma’s residence on Nehru Path. Sources indicate that the house was locked upon the investigators’ arrival. The team later gained access through the staff quarters and commenced their search. Reports suggest that neither Sharma nor Sagar was present during the operation.

Investigators searched various rooms, scrutinizing files, digital devices, and records believed to be related to government tender allocations. The SVU also targeted locations linked to Pawan Kumar in Bihar Colony, Beur. They are examining the company’s records, financial documents, and files related to government tenders awarded to Maatri Seva Infra Private Limited.

Authorities suspect that the seized materials may contain crucial evidence related to financial transactions and alleged irregularities. The investigation focuses on allegations that certain government officials assisted companies linked to the main accused, Rishu Shri, in securing government contracts, allegedly in exchange for substantial bribes.

Following the emergence of this alleged scam and the filing of an FIR by the SVU, the Bihar government suspended both IAS officers pending the investigation. Meanwhile, main accused Rishu Shri is in custody of investigative agencies, undergoing intense questioning for several days.

Based on information gathered during interrogations, investigators have expanded the scope of the inquiry, delving into the roles of other officials, contractors, and individuals allegedly connected to the case.

Investigative agencies are currently analyzing documents, electronic records, and financial evidence collected during the raids. Officials state that a complete understanding of the alleged network and any irregularities will only be revealed upon the investigation’s conclusion.

The search operation is ongoing, and further actions are anticipated based on the evidence gathered during the ongoing investigation.
