Bihar to Recruit 46,000 Teachers in March: What to Expect from BPSC TRE 4

Patna, March 12: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is set to announce the recruitment of approximately 46,000 teachers this month. The commission has prepared the advertisement draft and sent it to the education department for approval. Once the education department returns the draft with consent, the advertisement will be published.

This recruitment drive, part of the fourth phase, aims to fill teaching positions in schools across Bihar, from primary to higher secondary levels, covering classes 1 to 12. BPSC had sent the vacancy draft to the education department about ten days ago. However, the department has yet to return the draft to BPSC. It is anticipated that the draft will be returned within a week. Any delay in this process may postpone the announcement of vacancies.

BPSC has set a target to release the TRE 4 vacancies by March 20. According to senior officials, the quicker the education department returns the draft, the sooner the vacancies will be announced. The advertisement is expected to be released by the end of this month.

Vacancies Breakdown

There will be 25,857 vacancies in higher and secondary schools. In primary schools, there will be 10,778 positions for teachers in classes 1 to 5. For classes 6 to 8, there will be a total of 8,563 vacancies.

Vacancy Details:

Classes 1 to 5: 10,778

Classes 6 to 8: 8,563

Classes 9 to 10: 9,083

Classes 11 to 12: 16,774

Key Changes in TRE 4

1. This time, a domicile policy will be implemented in the Bihar teacher recruitment (TRE 4.0). Out of the total vacancies, 85% will be reserved for native residents of Bihar, while only 15% will be open to candidates from other states.

2. Women will receive 35% reservation in the TRE-4 recruitment, benefiting native residents of Bihar.

3. Each candidate will receive only one result this time. Previously, a single candidate could receive multiple results for different classes.

Currently, around 600,000 teachers are working in Bihar. Over the past two years, approximately 227,000 teachers have been recruited under TRE-1, TRE-2, and TRE-3. Additionally, around 300,000 contractual teachers have passed the competency exam and have become state employees.

Similar to previous examinations, it is expected that between 800,000 to 1,000,000 candidates will participate in TRE 4. Candidates are advised to prepare all their academic and reserved category documents. This recruitment is expected to significantly alleviate the shortage of teachers in secondary and higher secondary schools in the state. It presents a golden opportunity for millions of youth looking to shape their futures by becoming part of Bihar’s education system.
