Bhutans Foreign Minister Arrives in New Delhi for Raisina Dialogue

New Delhi, March 4: Bhutan’s Foreign and External Trade Minister Lyonpo D.N. Dhungyel arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday to participate in the 11th Raisina Dialogue.

The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, welcomed him on the social media platform ‘X’, stating that the India-Bhutan partnership is based on deep trust and goodwill. This visit is expected to further strengthen the ties between the two nations.

The Raisina Dialogue will take place in New Delhi from March 5 to 7. This premier conference on geopolitics and geo-economics has been held annually since 2016. It is organized by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs. Leaders, policymakers, experts, and journalists from around the world will participate in this event.

Earlier, on February 18, Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the India-AI Impact Summit held in New Delhi. The two leaders reviewed the progress of cooperation in areas such as energy, connectivity, development partnerships, and people-to-people relations.

They agreed to enhance collaboration in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the India-Bhutan partnership based on trust, goodwill, and mutual respect.

There has been a tradition of regular high-level visits between India and Bhutan, with both countries advancing deep ties in sectors like energy, infrastructure, and cultural exchange.

Last November, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Thimphu for two days, aiming to deepen India-Bhutan relations and reinforce India’s commitment to the ‘Neighborhood First’ policy.
