Mumbai, May 30: Renowned photographer Dabboo Ratnani is celebrated for his stunning celebrity photoshoots. Recently, he shared memorable experiences of working with actor Shah Rukh Khan during a podcast hosted by actress Pooja Bhatt.
On Saturday, Pooja Bhatt posted an audio clip of their podcast on Instagram. Dabboo revealed that most of their shoots took place at Shah Rukh’s residence, Mannat. He reminisced about how Shah Rukh’s carefree and natural moments transformed into some of his most iconic photographs. “He was playing with his dog, and I captured those candid shots,” he noted.
Dabboo also recounted an interesting anecdote about how he sourced inspiration for one of Shah Rukh’s photoshoots from a junkyard. He explained, “Once, while changing my car tires at a shop, I saw a man loading old tires into a tempo. I loved the junkyard-like backdrop. I immediately spoke to the shop owner and had around 200 old, worn-out tires brought to Mehboob Studio. We used those tires to create the set, which led to that unforgettable shot of Shah Rukh Khan.”
Pooja Bhatt complimented Dabboo, saying, “You really made Shah Rukh look very smart. There’s something about him that changes when he’s with you, something he doesn’t show with anyone else.”
In response, Dabboo reflected on his time with Shah Rukh, emphasizing how their carefree interactions led to some of his most memorable images. He recalled, “Once, Shah Rukh came to my studio in Oshiwara. He got busy playing with my pet dog, Flash. I let him enjoy the moment instead of posing artificially for the camera.”
