Mumbai, September 12 (Daily Kiran) : Elections were held on Saturday for the Cine and TV Artists Association (SINTA) in Mumbai, following a series of resignations and internal conflicts among its members. The event saw participation from various prominent figures in the entertainment industry.
Actor Mukesh Rishi, along with Kunika Sadanand and Bindu Dara Singh, spoke to reporters after casting their votes. Rishi noted the necessity of the elections, stating, “Elections were needed because many people had resigned. The alternative was to hold elections, and those who want to participate have received a second chance. I came here to vote and wish all my friends the best. By evening, we’ll know who wins, and I congratulate whoever that may be. They should work better for SINTA.”
He added, “I believe that if one is not happy in a place, they should leave. I was among those who felt that way, so I stepped away. What Padmini and Poonam are thinking and what they want to do is for them to decide.”
Kunika Sadanand expressed her optimism about the elections, saying, “I am happy to see that voting is happening again. I hope the new committee will do good work. There should be security for artists’ payments, safety for women, and equality for all artists.”
Bindu Dara Singh reflected on the previous two-year term of SINTA, which was extended to three years. He mentioned that while the committee had done good work, internal conflicts had led to divisions. “Things deteriorated to the point where it became uninviting. I urge the incoming leaders to make SINTA’s operations transparent, so everyone knows what’s happening,” he said.
