New Delhi, February 19: Bangladesh has officially established a new government, welcoming its leader amid significant unrest and violence. As Prime Minister Tariq Rahman assumes office, he has issued a stern warning regarding law and order. He has also expressed solidarity with minority communities, who have faced extreme violence in recent times. This new government may represent a beacon of hope for these groups.

According to reports from the Dhaka Tribune, PM Rahman emphasized that restoring peace and public trust is the government’s top priority. He stated, “Regardless of party, religion, caste, or creed, our main focus is to enhance law and order and strictly control corruption to bring back peace and security to the people.”

During his address, he identified gambling and drug proliferation as significant threats to public safety and announced strict actions against such activities. PM Rahman has already instructed law enforcement agencies to take decisive measures.

He also stressed that all constitutional, governmental, and private institutions will operate strictly according to legal policies and regulations. He declared, “No party influence, no favoritism, and no coercion; the rule of law will prevail in governance.”

The Bangladeshi PM advocated for inclusivity, stating, “Whether one is Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, or Christian, religion should not affect citizenship. Everyone, whether they voted for the BNP or not, has equal rights to this government. Each person may have their own party, religion, and beliefs, but this country belongs to all of us. We must work together to advance it.”

To promote integrity within government offices, Tariq announced that BNP MPs will not benefit from certain traditional privileges. He mentioned, “In our first cabinet meeting, we decided that no MP will import tax-free vehicles or receive land allotments under government benefits.” He described this decision as a reflection of fairness, asserting that the government will strive to maintain ethical governance standards.
