Bangladesh Mens Cricket Team to Tour Nepal for T20 Series in March 2027

Kathmandu, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : The Bangladesh men’s cricket team is set to visit Nepal for a three-match T20 series in March 2027. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the tour on September 16, 2026. The matches are scheduled to take place in Kathmandu on March 26, 28, and 30.

This series will be dedicated to the victims of the recent devastating floods in Nepal.

During a visit to the BCB, Nepal’s ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, met with BCB president Tamim Iqbal. They discussed the upcoming tour and explored broader cricketing cooperation between the two nations.

Bhandari’s meeting with Iqbal followed a discussion with the state minister for youth and sports, Md. Aminul Haque, where they began talks on organizing the cricket series.

The BCB stated, “These three matches will provide an opportunity for Bangladesh and Nepal to come together through cricket. Amid challenging times and significant losses, this series will also convey a message of friendship, solidarity, and mutual cooperation.”

The BCB has also assured the Nepal Cricket Association of its continued support for the development of cricket in Nepal.

Historically, Bangladesh and Nepal have played two T20 matches in men’s cricket, both during World Cup events. The first encounter took place on March 18, 2014, where Bangladesh won by eight wickets. The second match was held on June 16, 2024, with Bangladesh securing a victory by 21 runs.
