Baloch Liberation Army Claims Killing of Seven Pakistani Soldiers

Quetta, March 3: The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) announced on Tuesday that it has executed seven Pakistani soldiers captured during ‘Operation Heroof 2.0’ on the orders of its Senior Command Council.

According to reports from The Balochistan Post, the BLA stated that these individuals, linked to regular units of the Pakistani army, were sentenced by the Baloch National Court for enforced disappearances, crimes against civilians, and involvement in other war crimes.

The BLA indicated that it had issued a seven-day ultimatum for the exchange of prisoners on February 14, which was later extended to 14 days. During this extended period, the group concluded that Pakistani military officials were not serious about securing the release of their personnel.

In its statement, the group noted that initial contacts regarding a potential prisoner exchange were exploited by the military to gain an advantage in the region, while the Pakistani army simultaneously conducted operations involving gunship helicopters, drones, and heavy troop deployments.

The BLA argued that the Senior Command Council’s rationale was that the humanitarian release period was being used to escalate hostilities and target Baloch fighters. This deception illustrates that the Pakistani army only understands the language of power and action.

The statement confirmed that the sentences for all seven prisoners were carried out on Tuesday, in accordance with the Baloch National Court’s ruling. The BLA accused the high command of the Pakistani army of being responsible for the deaths of the seven soldiers.

Last month, the BLA claimed responsibility for a series of coordinated attacks in Balochistan province, resulting in over 80 fatalities, including personnel from the Pakistani army, police, intelligence agencies, and counter-terrorism units. The group referred to this campaign as ‘Operation Heroof 2.0.’

According to BLA spokesperson Ziyand Baloch, the coordinated attacks lasted nearly 10 hours and were executed across several districts in Balochistan. The BLA asserted that its fighters attacked locations in Quetta, Noshki, Mastung, Dalbandin, Kalat, and other cities.

The Balochistan Post reported that these areas are considered essential military and administrative centers by the Pakistani government.

In its statement, the BLA alleged that at least 84 members of the Pakistani security forces were killed during the operation, with many others injured. The group further claimed that 18 security personnel were taken captive during the attacks.

The military organization also stated that over 30 government properties were either seized or destroyed, including alleged government offices, banks, and jails. Additionally, the group claimed that more than 20 vehicles were set ablaze.

The BLA further asserted that its fighters successfully disrupted the movement of Pakistani security forces in several areas and temporarily gained control over certain regions during the operation.
