Neemuch, April 14: The ‘Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya’ scheme is proving to be a lifeline for millions. The government has expanded the scheme to include Anganwadi workers, assistants, and ASHA workers, marking a commendable step forward. Women in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh have welcomed this decision enthusiastically.
Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers in Neemuch have received their Ayushman cards and are now benefiting from the scheme. These workers, who have long been the backbone of maternal and child health, nutrition, vaccination, and rural health services, are now connected to a robust health security network.
Local workers express that their inclusion in this scheme reflects the government’s trust and respect for their work. This has boosted their morale, allowing them to perform their duties with renewed enthusiasm.
Devakanya Sen, an assistant at Anganwadi Center No. 3 in the village of Bharbhadiya, shared that she previously did not have an Ayushman card, but now she has obtained one. She expressed her gratitude to PM Modi for this initiative.
Sen mentioned that the scheme offers free treatment up to ₹5 lakh. She emphasized that in case of emergencies, the Ayushman card will facilitate necessary medical care without the hassle of searching for help. She noted that many poor individuals struggle to access treatment in large hospitals, but with the Ayushman card, they can receive up to ₹5 lakh in free medical care.
Manju Bala Patidar, a worker at Anganwadi Center No. 1, stated that PM Modi has ensured that all Anganwadi workers and assistants receive their Ayushman cards, allowing them to access free treatment at both private and government hospitals. She expressed her heartfelt thanks for this support.
Rehana, a worker at Anganwadi Center No. 3 in Singoli, shared that they previously did not benefit from the free treatment scheme. However, following PM Modi’s announcement, their cards have been issued, and camps have been set up at Anganwadi centers to facilitate this process. She expressed optimism about the benefits they will receive in the future, thanking PM Modi profusely.
Ankita Pandya, the program officer for the Women and Child Development Department, explained that the government had issued directives to create Ayushman cards for all Anganwadi workers and assistants in the district. Special camps were organized by local bodies and panchayats to ensure that everyone, including Anganwadi workers, received their cards.
Pandya confirmed that there are 1,112 Anganwadi centers in the district, and cards have been issued to all workers and assistants. This initiative is expected to provide significant medical assistance to them.
