
New Delhi, August 19: In an exciting match of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026, South Delhi Superstars showcased an impressive performance, defeating North Delhi Strikers by 4 wickets. Chasing a target of 208 runs set by North Delhi, South Delhi achieved their goal in 19.3 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process.
The innings began poorly for South Delhi Superstars. Anmol Sharma struggled with the bat, scoring just 7 runs before being dismissed. Sanat Sangwan hit some powerful shots but fell victim to Nikhil Kumar after scoring 21 runs off 9 balls. Karan Garg managed only 4 runs, while Tejaswi Dahiya was out for 28 runs off 19 balls. Pranshu Vijayran returned to the pavilion after contributing 10 runs from 14 balls.
However, captain Ayush Badoni anchored the innings, delivering a spectacular performance. He scored a blazing 90 runs off just 47 balls, maintaining a strike rate of 191, with 4 fours and 8 sixes. In the final overs, Ankit Dabbas played a crucial role, scoring an unbeaten 26 runs off just 10 balls, leading the team to victory.
Earlier, North Delhi Strikers had a strong start, with captain Sarthak Ranjan and Yash Dabbas forming a century partnership for the first wicket. Sarthak scored 45 runs off 23 balls, while Yash contributed 78 runs from 38 balls, hitting 5 fours and 6 sixes. Yash Bhatia and Gaurav failed to make a significant impact. Arjun Rapadia added 27 runs off 11 balls with 3 fours and a six. However, North Delhi lost wickets at regular intervals in the final overs, finishing their innings at 207 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs.
