Ayodhya Saints Welcome SIT Investigation into Ram Temple Donation Controversy

Ayodhya, June 19: The decision by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) regarding the alleged financial irregularities surrounding donations to the Ram Temple has been welcomed by the saint community in Ayodhya. The saints urge that until the investigation is complete, all parties should refrain from spreading rumors and confusion. They encourage anyone with evidence to present it to the investigating agency. Saint Varun Das Maharaj has called for the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to also be involved in the inquiry.

Mahant Sitaram Das of the Saket Bhawan Temple praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s decision, stating that the government has taken the matter seriously by establishing the SIT to ensure a fair investigation. He expressed gratitude, saying, “I sincerely thank Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for forming the SIT and advising us to wait for 15 days. All parties should allow the investigation to proceed without interference. Anyone with evidence should submit it to the SIT.”

Mahant Sitaram Das emphasized that attempts to spread confusion should not occur before the investigation concludes. He accused certain individuals of previously questioning the Ram Temple and Sanatan traditions, now trying to create confusion regarding this issue. He remarked that those who once deemed Lord Ram fictional and questioned the existence of Ram Setu are now attempting to share knowledge. The Sanatani community will not be misled by such individuals.

He expressed confidence that the SIT, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, would conduct an impartial investigation and reveal the truth. He warned that if any conspiracy is discovered aimed at undermining people’s faith, the saint community would not tolerate it. He urged anyone with evidence to come forward, assuring that strict action would be taken against those found guilty.

Saint Varun Das Maharaj also welcomed the Chief Minister’s timely decision, labeling it a significant step. He noted that the formation of the SIT opens the path for a fair investigation, and if sufficient evidence emerges, action against the guilty will be possible.

He stated that this initiative is commendable. If the investigation team uncovers evidence, it will strengthen the inquiry. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has demonstrated the ability to make swift decisions by forming the SIT. Varun Das Maharaj suggested that since the matter involves finances and donations, the ED should be included to ensure a thorough examination of the economic aspects.

He further commented that any financial dispute related to the Ram Janmabhoomi is distressing for devotees. If there has been any misuse of donations or funds, the complete truth must be revealed. The controversy surrounding donations has mentally disturbed devotees, senior saints, and volunteers. He proposed that senior saints, elderly citizens, and volunteers be included in the management and oversight mechanisms related to Ram Janmabhoomi to maintain transparency and accountability.

Varun Das Maharaj also pointed out that since the controversy surfaced, there has been no clear response from the trust’s treasurer, raising several questions. He insisted that if any irregularities have occurred, they should be exposed, and if not, a clear explanation should be provided.
