Agartala, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : Assam Rifles held a demonstration of weapons and equipment on Friday in Agartala, showcasing its capabilities in maintaining security in the Northeast. The event took place at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel and aimed to highlight the force’s operational readiness and role in national defense.
A spokesperson from the defense department noted that the demonstration was organized for National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the force’s capabilities and operational preparations.
The cadets participated enthusiastically, gaining firsthand insight into various weapons, equipment, and specialized systems used by the Assam Rifles. They interacted with soldiers to learn about the operational significance and capabilities of the armaments.

A senior officer emphasized that the Assam Rifles continuously monitors the activities of insurgent groups, which often operate across state borders to evade law enforcement. These groups are interconnected and provide refuge to each other’s cadres, necessitating a robust intelligence network to address these challenges.
