
Itanagar, February 9: A symbol of unity and inter-service coordination, the joint bike rally organized by the Assam Rifles and the Indian Coast Guard concluded on Monday at the historic Pangsau Pass. Officials confirmed the event’s successful completion.
Defense spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat stated that the second phase of the ‘From Sea to Mountains’ joint bike rally, conducted with the support of the Assam Rifles, highlights national resolve and the seamless coordination between India’s maritime and land-based forces.
Pangsau Pass, also known as Paan Song Pass, is located at an elevation of 3,727 feet atop the Patkai Hills along the India-Myanmar border, serving as a symbolic endpoint for the rally.
On the final day, the rally progressed from Jairampur to the Namphong Higher Secondary School, where participants engaged with students and local residents.
Inspiring speeches were delivered to instill values of discipline, service, and nation-building among the youth. Motivational films showcasing the ethos, roles, and commitments of the Indian Coast Guard and Assam Rifles were also presented.
The rally was flagged off at Pangsau Pass by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Assam Rifles. The closing ceremony featured a vibrant performance by the Assam Rifles Pipe Band, the presentation of mementos, and interactions with local residents, including cross-border engagement with Myanmar citizens, strengthening ties and promoting goodwill across the international boundary.
The spokesperson noted that the ‘From Sea to Mountains’ joint bike rally is a robust expression of inter-service coordination, youth engagement, and border outreach, reinforcing national unity from the seas to the mountains.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army launched ‘Mission Krishiveer’ on Monday in the East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh to strengthen the relationship between farmers and the military. Lieutenant Colonel Rawat mentioned that this initiative was initiated at the Sigar Military Station by the Spear Corps’ Spearhead Division in collaboration with the Army Service Corps.
