Bhopal, July 15: The Ashoknagar Railway Station in Madhya Pradesh has undergone a remarkable transformation with an investment exceeding ₹22 crore. Developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the station has been modernized to enhance passenger amenities, accessibility, and infrastructure.
Numerous development projects have been undertaken to give the station a modern, attractive, and passenger-centric appearance. Improvements include enhancements to the circulating area, better parking facilities, a new porch, upgrades to the main station building, and the construction of new platform shelters. Ashoknagar Railway Station, classified as an NSG-5 category station under the West Central Railway’s Bhopal division, features three platforms and operates over 50 trains daily.
Currently, the station accommodates an average of over 6,000 passengers each day. The redevelopment of Ashoknagar Railway Station incorporates modern amenities while also celebrating local art and culture. Facilities such as waiting rooms, booking counters, and a developed concourse area, along with standard signage, have been established for passenger convenience.
New foot overbridge ramps and lifts have made movement for passengers more convenient and organized. Additionally, the station premises showcase local art and culture as a symbol of the journey from heritage to development.
