Jammu, March 4: The vigilant soldiers of the Indian Army successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Bhimber Gali sector of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday.
The White Knight Corps, based at the Nagrota headquarters, stated, “Acting on reliable intelligence inputs and continuous surveillance, movement of terrorists was detected in the general area of Bhimber Gali near the LoC on the morning of March 4, 2026. Responding with significant force and demonstrating excellent tactical execution, the alert soldiers of the White Knight Corps acted swiftly to thwart the infiltration attempt and prevent any breach of the LoC.”
The statement further noted that coordinated ground action effectively disrupted the enemy’s plans.
It added, “To maintain continuous dominance over the area, our troops have been reoriented, supported by integrated ground and aerial surveillance. A robust operational posture and high alert status are in place throughout the sector. The area is on high alert, and every attempt at infiltration will be thwarted.”
The Line of Control spans 740 kilometers, while the international border stretches 240 kilometers. The LoC traverses the Kashmir Valley through the districts of Baramulla, Kupwara, and Bandipora, as well as parts of Poonch, Rajouri, and Jammu districts in the Jammu division.
The international border is located in the Jammu division, specifically in the districts of Jammu, Samba, and Kathua. The Army is responsible for guarding the LoC, while the Border Security Force (BSF) secures the international border against infiltration from Pakistan, cross-border smuggling, and drone activities.
In the past, drones have been used by terrorists to drop consignments of weapons, ammunition, drugs, and cash.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces regularly conduct operations against terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs), and supporters. Drug traffickers, peddlers, and individuals involved in hawala money rackets are also under the radar of security agencies. It is believed that the proceeds from such illegal activities are used to sustain terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
